I'm not sure how it works in the UK, but in the US most companies
would want the doctor to show how your condition affects you and
your ability to work. The doctors could request that your company
make a "reasonable accommodation" to suit your needs at work.
It depends on how stubborn your management really is. Perhaps
a simple letter from your doctor would convince them. Or you
may need to go through a process to prove that you need the
reasonable accommodation. I think that you could show them
that you want to work, but you just need to be away from loud
noises. I once had my doctor write a note to my employer when
they wanted to move to a very noisy office right over a machine
room that made horrible, thrumming noises I couldn't tolerate.
They didn't move me. Good luck!
