Hi Peeps!
I've had T, Hyperacusis, pain, vertigo etc for over a year. I'm now in the
process of hospital tests (MRI, balance tests etc) and recently been fitted
with a hearing aid/masker for my left ear.
This has made a load of difference- especially at work - but when I got
there today I'd been moved to a new desk on another floor and instead of my
bad ear facing a blank wall, I'm sitting facing into a corner with loud
sound both sides. Obviously, this has sent all my symptoms sky high!
I thought I had sympathetic management (I work for a Trade Union BTW) but my
request to turn my desk 90 degrees was refused point blank! Can an employer
legally do this? I really don't know my best course of action - I wondered
if the ENT dept would send them a letter explaining my condition.
I'd be grateful for any advice.
