I don't have a problem with the T drowning out my hearing. I think the
radio is good though because it provides me with variation of sound
and concentration on the words.

No problem with this.

True, stress does make it worse. My computer fan masks the noise but I
think I'm going to get an LCD monitor to avoid the picture tube
screetch that you hear from common televisions.

Wow.... never realized this. So far not a problem for me.

Sometimes this does happen. I just ignore it and work late.

Not good. I sing in a band but I just recently got these amazing
custom ear plugs and they work incredibly well. They lower the noise
by 25db and I think that is plenty not to worry about the fact that
the noise source is loud.
