Cancer drains the life from people while tinnitus attacks one's sanity and
leaves the body healthy. The pressures can build up in the mind and then
erupt like a volcano, surprising everyone.
Your first paragraph, which might surprise you, is a bit of a bitch, isn't
it? Reread it again... :)
I like your last paragraph:
---
I hate this more than almost
anything but I do what I can to avoid the problem by playing by the
rules of minimal annoyance. The more rules I can develop the less
irritating my life will be. I don't like the fact that I cannot sleep
on one side but so freaking what? I'll sleep on the other side and be
damn thankful that I don't have diabetes like many others I know.
----
Regarding rules, the ultimate rule is to throw out all of the acquired rules
and just live. Once you've gotten to that point you've begun to master your
tinnitus.
