As someone who is in the computer hardware field (I teach A+ certifications), I would caution anyone who builds a box around their computer to be very cautious. You can eliminate most of the noise but may end up buying a new CPU chip and other components if you cause overheating.
The little fans on a card for a computer will not help cool the computer but usually will cause it to overheat because it impedes the proper circulation of air. While there are some general guidlines to follow to reduce the noise and/or heat of a computer, The form factor and the design
of the case and layout of the motherboard and omponents (different in every unit) must be taking into account for heat dissapation. If anyone wants any advice in this area, feel free to email me and I'll try to help.
