I have suffered from severe tinnitus and hyperacusis since May, 1993, when I was exposed to estremely loud music at a restaurant.I have never been able to understand why I, of all people at the party, was the only person
who developed this unrelenting noise in my head. It wasn't until I read Paul Ward's commentary that a possible reason has surfaced in my mind's eye. Due to a stress-related problem in 1993, I was taking a tri-cyclic
antidepressant called sinequan. It would certainly fit, at least in my case, that the use of the drug in conjunction with the extremely loud noise is what caused my problem. No way to ever prove it, but "if the shoe fits.
