If you feel that your tinnitus is affected by loud noise, you should probably wear earplugs. Most tinnitus sufferers do. Earplugs shouldn't hurt your ears unless you overuse them over a long period of time. Earplugs can be bought from a drugstore or from an audiologist. The ones from the audiologist are custom fit to your ears but cost over $100. If you haven't seen a doctor or audiologist for your tinnitus, you probably should. Perhaps there is an underlying medical condition that they can treat. It's better to be safe.
