Just wanted you to know that I can relate to your problem with tinnitus! I have recently been put on an anticonvulsant medication similar to tegretol and now have hearing problems. My ears ring very loudly, I hear a freight train always and my hearing is sensitive to loud voices or music. I too feel overwhelmed at times and try with all my might to ignore this terrible noise in my head. I did, however, discontinue my medicine for several weeks but still had tinnitus. It did seem to improve slightly but not enough to warrant being off all my medicine. Hope this helps. Take care of yourself anyway you can....
