Can TMJ make tinnitus worse?

I got tinnitus (low ringing in both ears) at a very loud concert about 2 months ago. I didn't get it treated. A few days ago, the ringing in my left ear got a bit louder so I decided to see a doctor. The doctor didn't seem too concerned and rattled off a list of minor things that could have lead to the increase in my left ear. There was very little hearing lossand my equalibrum is fine. Being the paranoid person I am, I'm still a little worried. I've had TMJ for about 8 years now and though it's never caused a constant ringing in my ears before, could it contribute to loudening the ringing I have now?
