That is one point well made in a previous post by the Doctor I don't wish to
try and quote. The essence was that TRT can help people who are so
traumatized by tinnitus that they can't function. It doesn't eliminate the
noise but helps a person to finally ignore them and get on with life. I
remember how my tinnitus was so overpowering for six straight months until I
finally got a break one day and some silence and a short period of lowered
noise. Those relief breaks seemed to begin occuring once a week and now
three years later they seem to occur daily.
In a few simple words, the change was from intense obsession with the sounds
which interfered with my life to becoming involved with my life which makes
the sounds less important. I am no longer worried about a cure or defeating
the tinnitus because all of my energy is focused on my work and life.
