Friend,
I have the similar symptoms, albeit for a shorter time. My
understanding is that Meniere's is usually associated with a low-pitched
roaring and usually starts in one ear. My suspicion is that your
tinnitus is bilateral and high pitched, like mine. It is known that
tinnitus can be associated with a pressure sensation caused by a
harmless contraction of the tensor tympani muscle in the middle ear.
This effect is caused by activity in the autonomic nervous system, which
is also involved in tinnitus persistence.
Your tinnitus may be getting worse (in part) because you believe
something is seriously wrong with your ears. Such thinking can be
counter-productive to habituation. See Hazell's material at
www.tinnitus.org.
The above having been said, I am not a medical professional but there
are several who monitor this board who might offer you some educated
inputs.
Good luck!
Paul
