Describe your tinnitus.

The pressure in my ears is due to TMJ and neck problems. I know that,
because when I treat those conditions, the ears feel better. I have a
high-pitched tinnitus.

For months I was insisting it was cochlear hydrops, and my otologist was
adamant that it could not be. After heavy muscle relaxants eased my
fullness, I realized he was right.

Cohclear hydrops ralmost never appears in both ears *at the same time*

Also with hydrops, you would have a measurable hearing loss and roaring in
your ears (or so my otologist says).

Pressure in the ear can be caused by anything that refers pain to the tensor
tympani muscle. It can be from any motor or sensory nerve nearby, including
the facial nerve and the auditory nerve. It can be referred muscle spasm or
pain. Pressure can also be caused by eustacian tube dysfunction and other
conditions of the middle ear.

Just because you feel pressure sdoes not necessarily mean you have hydrops.

Thanks,

Mike
