Hearing Aids help Tinnitus

Posted by lasalleg@my-deja.com

I just got an analog CIC(completely in canal)hearing aid for my left
ear. (If you are interested in my experiences so far, look at the
alt.support.hearing-loss newsgroup.) The T has gotten louder in the un-
aided right ear and less ,because of the masking effect, in the right
ear. I forgot to wear it one day and the right ear T came right down
and the left ear T didn't really get louder. I think I remember someone
mentioning this phenomena somewhere. Does anybody have an explanation?
I assume that it will eventually diminish. Luckily it is still in
the "just annoying" category.
