Elsewhere on this board, Eva Quesnell requested information about my
tinnitus video ("Tinnitus - Learn to Live WithOUT It"), and Jack
Rodgers requested a copy of it.
I have just searched my files, and I am aware of two *spontaneous*
posts that did appear on the Internet regarding the video. I will
copy them below.
.............
>Hi!
>I recently purchased Dr. Nagler's Tinnitus Video, and I would like to
>mention several things about it that I liked very much.
>The first is that Dr. Nagler says that even after TRT, he is occasionally
>aware of his tinnitus when he doesn't wish to be, that when this happens it
>is distracting (so distracting, in fact, that he feels he cannot continue
>as a surgeon), but that soon after the tinnitus breaks through, it
>disappears again. I appreciate this frankness because it gives me a better
>idea of what to expect after treatment.
>The second is that Dr. Nagler says that tinnitus may be annoying even when
>it is perceived as neutral (i.e. not threatening) simply because it is
>unremitting. I appreciated this because I'm tired of hearing that my
>tinnitus is a problem just because I'm scared of it (I exagerate to make a
>point!). I'm long past the point of being frightened, but I still want it
>to stop.
>I also appreciated the informal postscript, acknowledging that even if the
>source of tinnitus could be eliminated, the vicious circle might continue
>without it--or be touched off by a stimulus much more minor than the
>original. This was something that occured to me during the video, so I was
>glad to see it addressed.
>Also, although there was a great deal in the video that I had heard before,
>it was very helpful to have a coherent, continuous presentation.
>Next, I want to watch it with my two teenage children. They have been very
>sympathetic and empathetic to me during my tinnitus "ordeal". I want them
>to understand what I will be trying to accomplish when I start my TRT.
>All the best and my thanks to Dr. Nagler for making the video,
>Peggy McKee
