Tinnitus can be a sign of auditory damage, but tinnitus is caused by many
other things as well. Nay drug that affects the brain or nerves can create
or reduce tinnitus. Some drugs alter the bloodflow or body fluid supply
causing pressure changes in the cochlea and causing tinnitus.

Remember that the word tozxic, does not mean necessarily damage. The word
it used to define harmless irritation as well. For example, some medicines
may be labeled toxic to the stomach, but all it relally means is that the
stomach will be irritated, not that the stomach cells will be killed off.

The favorite one is CNS toxicity. When you see that, you think of brain
damage, but in most cases, it just refers to effects like headache that a
are just part of taking the drug.

Thanks,

Mike
