Jack, I'm sorry to hear that you're having a bout of tinnitus. Please
do hold onto the hope that it is temporary. That's quite possible.
I agree with the other poster who said you should go see an ENT or
otologist.

Please don't panic. Try to relax as much as you can. That, in
and of itself, will help you. I know it's hard. Trust me, I know.

The first thing I suggest you do is to take a long, hot shower. Let
the water run right over your head. This is very soothing to tinnitus
and will allow you to relax. After that, try some very soft music --
try having the TV on very low. Some people find that a radio that's
tuned between stations -- white noise -- helps. It irritates me.
The most important thing, IMHO, is to try as much as you can to
relax and not worry. Stress will make it louder. Peace and calm
will help. Bless your heart. I hope you have good results when
you see your doctor.
