just "live with it" is an uncompassionate statement by a doctor

I agree with you that the premise of just "live with it" is an
uncompassionate statement by a doctor. It is insulting to the patient and in
my opinion shows a lack of continuing education by the doctor. This attitude
shows why it takes 10-15 years for a new medical procedure or treatment to
become the standard of care.

Dr. Grossan, I would love to get a copy of the 20 steps for my own. I am in
a "battle" with my ENT/primary care/HMO for treatment of my tinnitus. That
battle leaves me alone to search out manangement of my condition while the
"powers that be" keep their proverbial head in the sand.

I have suffered from what I believe is intrusive tinnutus since Dec 27,
2000. At that time an antibiotic resistant ear infection elevated my low
level tinnitus to the intrusive level and it has not abated. As you so aptly
stated "ALL science knows that when you actively participate in the healing
process it takes place better and faster." I cannot wait for the nay-sayers
to become educated and suffer while they do so.

Thank you for your involvement in finding methods to help tinnitus sufferers
cope and manage their lives.
